A Wonderful Hearing Aid Success Story!

This past month I saw Mr. Patrick Mulvey.  An Irishman as true as his name.  Wonderfully sweet and accompanied by his wife Betty, who is equal in sweetness.  He came to me with audiograms done at nearly every hearing clinic in town.  He and his wife were frustrated because they had been told that “there was nothing further that could be done about Pat’s hearing”.

This is just the type of challenge that an experienced Audiologist like me lives for.  I wrote to Veteran’s Affairs explaining his hearing loss and situation and requested a special type of hearing aid that I wanted to test out.  I got full  approval from Veteran’s Affairs and successfully fit the hearing aids on Mr. Mulvey.  Just yesterday I sent his wife an email asking how he was doing and this was her reply:

“Hi Dr. Wright: I wanted to tell you earlier how improved Pat’s hearing had become, but we waited until Pat was serving Mass and wanted to see what difference it would make. One of his duties as a server is to ring the bells and he was able to hear them which he had not been able to do for some time. Thank you again for all your help. God bless, Betty”

This story warms our heart and we’re so happy for both Mr. and Mrs. Mulvey.
